Challenger x DC Shoes Salute the Evan Smith Hi Zero

Nope, this isn’t one of the first Converse shoes fresh from the museum shelf. Rather, it’s the work of Japanese hours Challenger and trusty ol’ DC Shoes.

Taking DC’s Evan Smith HI Zero and tszujing it with some military inspiration, the collaboration has produced a commonplace yet simple special edition shoe of canvas and leather.

A thick, black rubber sole unit curls up onto the toe for boosted protection. The muted palette and old-school aesthetic – the faded colour of the canvas and full-grain, brown leather accents – are reminiscent WWII soldiers’ canvas bags.

The shoe dropped in limited numbers at LA's Commonwealth clothing store this week during an b42224 event; a wider release through select stockists will follow in Tokyo on April 22.
