Consumer Protection Act, 1986 is an Act of the Parliament of India enacted in 1986 to protect the interests of consumers in India. It makes provision for the establishment of consumer councils and other authorities for the settlement of consumers' disputes and for matters connected therewith. Originally the act was covering only the product companies, but subsequently even the professional services were brought into the ambit of consumer protection act. The purpose of this program is to develop an appreciation of the act and to review the areas that need to be strengthened within your organisation.
