During the middle of 2022, news broke that – with the help of multi-disciplinary creative entity Brain Dead – Oakley would You can cop both colourways of the Oakley Flesh Sandal right now from retailers like Sneakersnstuff. The goal was to create experimental and innovative products, with Brain Dead acting as the R&D wing of the conceptual sub-brand, and to look for archival silhouettes to resurrect with new and unorthodox solutions. Right off the bat, the team resurrected the sought-after Flesh – a silhouette trending among the social media archival fashion community. Ever since, both the Flesh and Chop Saw have become Oakley’s bread and butter, reinterpreting the Y2K builds in a swathe of different builds. The latest has been dubbed the Flesh Sandal, which is out right now and selling fast.

This Flesh Sandal iteration boasts a similar construction to its OG Flesh producer, albeit hosting a slightly different construction and material composition. The upper has arrived in a broader mix of materials, housing mesh, leather, suede and other synthetic fabrics alongside a sandal detail that sees the middle part opened up. Two colourways of the Sandal have launched already: a full grey and a blue/black iteration – both boasting black midsoles and the usual Oakley branding.
