Restock! New Balance 550 'Conversations Amongst Us'

Update August 8, 2022: It's been four months since Joe Freshgoods and New Balance released their 'Conversations Amongst Us' collection. Don't fret if you missed out when they dropped on April 15 because the NB550 will receive a restock! Head to the New Balance webstore on August 11 to cop.
Creative directed by and crafted by Black Soles – an employee-led community within that champions representation and amplification – the New Balance 'Conversations Amongst Us' campaign, inspired by the uniqueness, strength and love in the Black American vernacular, has been causing quite the buzz across the sneakersphere. Now, New Balance have announced an official release date for the first part of the collection's rollout, namely its special takes on the and , set to hit shelves later in the month.
Created by Freshgoods plus New Balance employees Jordan Johnson and , the collection's 550 and 2002R both make use of a light yellow shade. The 550 discards its standard leather upper in favour of canvas, a swap that Freshgoods said 'feels like a white tee in the summer' when he first revealed the finished product. Meanwhile, the 2002R offers a look that's almost dip-dyed in its nature by combining its ultra-light yellow base shade with rich yellow accents and small dashes of blue. It also features an interesting construction, one that melds a ripstop base with suede and leather overlays. Besides the kicks, New Balance have also produced hoodies, crewnecks, t-shirts and sweatpants.
Freshgoods shock-dropped the 550 during an Instagram Live session recently, but if you missed out on his unexpected release (or are just lookin' for more), you can expect this first batch of 'Conversations Amongst Us' gear to release on April 15. The 550 is priced at $120, the 2002R arrives at $140 and apparel runs from $40-$85. There are also and plus a set of matching apparel.
