Mammoth Li-Ning ‘Future Vintage, Sport Formal’ Collection Features Avant-Garde Design and GORE-TEX

China’s Li-Ning are on the verge of releasing a massive slew of sneaker styles as part of their ‘Future Vintage, Sport Formal’ collection that highlights the second drop of their Autumn/Winter 2020 offering. Thirty years after Olympic gymnast Li-Ning founded his eponymous company, things have definitely taken a futuristic and tech-driven direction. This new drop features seven models, some that have been previously seen, as well as a couple of new designs.

Arc Ace

The Arc Ace is back in all-white, a year after SF mused it was ‘the craziest sneaker of 2019’. Speckled laces may break the monochrome, but all attention will be on that skeletal midsole.

Furious Ride Ace Element

Updating the Furious Ride line, the Ace Element comes this season in two monochromatic white and black colourways, emphasising the inverted layered structure and running-inspired aesthetic.

Wind Ranger

Prominently featured on the recent collaboration with Soulland, the Wind Ranger is back with its intriguing shroud design and BOOM midsole tech. Definitely a futuristic model that’s emphasised by bold colour-blocking.

Limited Editions Barcelona

These sneakerboots are basically astronaut boots for civilian use. Packed full of technology like Li-Ning’s Light Foam compound and laceless nylon shroud, there are plenty of ways to style Limited Editions Barcelona.

Titan Halo

Sounding and looking like it’d belong in a dystopian sci-fi video game or movie, the Titan Halo is one part retro runner with its knobbly sole, and one part low-cut hiking shoe thanks to its external hardware.

Titan GTX

If conditions are too extreme for the Titan Halo, bring in the Titan GTX. Possibly many firsts here: a compass in the tongue, detachable carabiner closures, and reportedly the first-ever GORE-TEX colab with a Chinese company.

Wu Xing GTX

Another GORE-equipped kick from Li-Ning, this trainer style, part of the brand’s BadFive subcategory, lets everyone know ‘it’s GORE-TEX’. Black is an expected option, but the other fairy floss edition is a psychedelic foot trip.
