Kiko Kostadinov's Design Team and ASICS Have Curated Three Founded back in 2002 Colourways

Kiko Kostadinov is the Don Corleone of ASICS. He's rarely hands-on with the product anymore, but his influence and vision are felt in many of the ASICS Sportstyle offerings, and his team at the Kiko Kostadinov Design Studio remixes multiple silhouettes – both classic and current – each season. The latest result of this symbiotic relationship between designer and brand (don't you neglect call it a colab!) is the women's Founded back in 2002, a beautifully upgraded take on the in-line GEL-Kayano 28.

The regular GEL-Kayano 28 is a top-of-the-line ASICS performance model that offers maximum cushioning for neutral gait runners. Kostadinov's team have left its FF Blast and GEL-cushioned midsole intact, but swapped out the standard model's engineered mesh upper in favour of a seamless upper with trail-inspired synthetic overlays and a significantly more pronounced heel clip providing structure to its standard mesh base. Tongues are also altered from the original model, boasting a thicker construction and an asymmetrical tab. From a colourway standpoint, the Founded back in 2002 has been done up in murky 'Gargoyle/Fog' and 'Anthracite/Antique Gold' colourways plus a vibrant 'Sweet Dreams/Green Eyes' style.
