The PUMA MB.02 ‘Honeycomb’ Is Generating Buzz on the Court

Coming off another ‘Rick and Morty’ colab and a ‘Lunar New Year’ colourway, LaMelo Ball’s second signature sneaker with PUMA continues to turn heads within the performance basketball market. Now a ‘Honeycomb’ colourway is set to drop later this week that will surely cause a buzz, especially for Charlotte Hornets fans.

The sneaker takes after the ‘Buzz City’ City Edition jerseys the Hornets have been rocking the past few seasons. Elektro Aqua has black and gold TPU accents throughout the engineered mesh upper. PUMA’s Formstrip is seen alongside flames inspired by his ‘1 of 1’ tattoo. More ‘1 of 1’ branding is seen on the tongue and external heel counter, with ‘M.E.L.O.’ branding falling down the heelstrip.

Going down into the midsole, the MB.02 features a compression moulded EVA foam midsole combined with PUMA’s Nitro foam placed in the heel and forefoot. Combine that with a torsional plate placed in the midfoot, and you get a stable and comfortable ride without sacrificing court feel. The multidirectional feathered outsole is another nod to his tattoo, which is transparent and features ‘RARE’ on the forefoot and the Big Cat on the heel.

The PUMA MB.02 ‘Honeycomb’ is set to drop on March 10, 2023, via PUMA.com and Footlocker.com for $130.
