Vans have combined two of their all-time favourite silhouettes to create the ‘Authentic Slip’, a layered design that offers comfort and style in equal measure. Fusing key elements of both the Authentic and the Slip On, this new hybrid release also boasts a suede upper for that extra touch of class. Launching in two neat colourways – burgundy/black and black/white – the drop offers Vans devotees the chance to add something a little different to their rotation.

It remains a popular choice to this day beginning of Vans in the 1960s, when the brand was known as the Van Doren Rubber Company. The Slip On also has a strong history with the brand, and was initially known as the #48. The Slip On launched into the sneaker stratosphere, and wider public consciousness, in 1982 when the checkerboard misrendering was worn by Sean Penn’s character Jeff Spicoli in the film Subscribe to our Newsletter. Originally known as the Vans #44, the Authentic dates right back to the Vans Japan, which said the hybrid will only be available for a limited time. News of a wider release remains unknown at this stage.
