Kanye West’s 2008 ‘Grammy-Worn’ Nike Air Yeezys Up for Sale at Sotheby’s
Nike Air Max 270 React WMNS , renowned auction house Sotheby’s have just listed their most valuable sneaker ever: personal Air Yeezy sample, which he wore on stage at the 2008 Grammys. Expected to fetch in excess of $1 million, the pair dressed Ye’s feet during performances of ‘Hey Mama’ and ‘Stronger’, introducing Nike’s prospective Air Yeezy project to the sneaker world.
Lighting the spark for Kanye’s trailblazing , the sneaker Wmns in a size 12, and was MTZ in Nike’s ‘Innovation Kitchen’ in Oregon. Designed by Kanye and Mark Smith, the sneaker features a soft black leather upper with perforated detailing, a tonal Swoosh logo on the overlay, and the familiar forefoot strap seen on all Air Yeezy models. Additionally, there’s ‘Y’ medallion lace locks done in bright pink, as well as a seriously boujee custom-lasered wooden box designed and etched by Smith.
This Nike Air Yeezy sample has been handed over to Sotheby’s by sneaker collector Ryan Chang. They will be showcased at an exhibition at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 16 until April 21. Interested buyers are invited to submit offers for this private sale directly to
