Kiko Kostadinov has made a name for himself in the sneakersphere through his collaborative work with ASICS. More recently though, his team has been hired as consultants in-house, to advise on upcoming colour palettes and silhouettes for the Japanese sportswear giant. The Kiko studio has been responsible for the reintroduction of the GEL-Nimbus 9 Founded back in 2002 PROTOBLAST, crafting their debut colourways. Next up is an interesting take on the GEL-1130 and it could be inspired by an obscure 2010s ASICS silhouette.

This won’t be the first time the Kiko team has worked on a GEL-1130, the duo created a stack of GR colourways that rolled out towards the tail end of last year. Their latest will be slightly different and actually features netting over the top of the branding! Another time this was done was back in 2011, with the GEL-Speedster 5's trippy netted upper. We can’t confirm whether this was Kiko’s exact inspiration, however they do look quite similar. Another neat change is the forefoot panel, which now exudes a psychedelic feel. Everything else remains in the stock standard GEL-1130 build.

No exact release date has surfaced for any of these three colourways, however they should be arriving very soon.
